Remixers! I am so happy to see you here! 🎉

It is an exciting time in technology. AI has become our modern equivalent of electricity, illuminating innovations at a speed and impact we haven’t seen before. New devices, including head-worn wearables and even robots, are quickly becoming available to the mainstream. And emerging tech verticals, which seemed disparate, are starting to connect and work together, showing us how our digital experiences are moving from screens to space.  

I created Remix Reality to track this convergence and make sense of its meaning. As the future comes into focus, we need trusted insight to navigate what’s next.

While many publications do a great job covering technology broadly or focusing on specific areas of spatial tech, I noticed there wasn’t one dedicated to the full spectrum of this next wave. That’s the gap Remix Reality is here to fill. My vision is for it to become the destination that connects the dots, spotlights what’s important, and helps make sense of where things are headed and why it matters.

Remix Reality delivers content across five editorial pillars that define the spatial stack:

• Physical AI – Robotics, autonomous vehicles, embodied agents 
• Immersive Interfaces – AR/VR headworn wearables, mobile AR, spatial displays
• Simulated Worlds – Game engines, digital twins, virtual environments
• Perception Systems – Sensors, spatial AI, machine understanding
• Society & Ethics – People, policy, cultural impact 

Alongside covering the world of spatial computing, I’ve also been rethinking what a media company can be today. With AI unlocking new ways to generate content and formats like 3D and AR expanding how stories are told, my goal is to integrate these technologies into our DNA in an ethical, transparent, and intentional manner. At the same time, Remix Reality is a chance to champion the irreplaceable role of humans: to curate, shape, oversee, and create with meaning.

We’ve started striking this balance with our mix of content. We curate the news as candidates for our daily Reality Briefs, which are then AI-generated using a fine-tuned GPT, shaped by editorial oversight, and paired with my “🌀 Tom’s Take,” offering my expert perspective. 

In addition to our AI-powered news, we are investing heavily in original, journalist-written commentary and thought leadership from me, guest contributors, and our growing team of writers. This includes editorials, think pieces, in-depth analyses of complex ideas and trends, as well as candid interviews with individuals shaping the field of spatial computing. 

We are also launching with our RealityGPT, designed to be your spatial intelligence companion. Trained on the entire Remix Reality archive and powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4, RealityGPT is there to have a conversation with you about the spatial computing space. It’s currently in beta and does a good job of answering questions related to articles on our site. However, over time, we envision RealityGPT becoming more like an analyst, helping you piece together trends and brainstorm ideas based on what is happening in the space. As we grow, it will grow to become a significant part of the Remix Reality experience. Eventually, I envision GPT taking a more central role in your experience with Remix Reality. 

Another way media is evolving is with immersive formats. Content is shifting from 2D to 3D, and we are excited to embrace this shift fully. You can expect to see 3D and AR content embedded on our pages as we incorporate the same technologies we write about into our editorial process.

While I hope Remix Reality will become a regular home for you to return to and catch up on spatial computing regularly, we will also come to you weekly in our Friday newsletter. There, we will ensure you are up-to-date on the latest trends in spatial computing and highlight the most recent stories from the site if you missed them when they were first published. 

In addition to the daily Reality Briefs available to everyone, those on the Insider and Visionary tiers will have access to our premium content. For launch, I’ve assembled a starter pack of editorials and deep dives that both provide a solid foundation on the spatial computing stack, what this wave means to us as humans, and some timely think pieces on recent news from big players like OpenAI and Apple.
