  • Techman Robot and Jinpao Precision installed nearly 50 AI cobots to automate production tasks across manufacturing lines serving multiple industries.
  • The automation covers ten factory processes and has freed up approximately 80,000 hours of annual production labor.

Techman Robot worked with precision mechanism manufacturer Jinpao Precision to implement a large-scale automation project using collaborative robots. Jinpao Precision produces precision metal components for industries including aerospace, communications, medical, and automation equipment. The initiative focuses on supporting the company’s high-mix, low-volume production model, where frequent product changes require flexible manufacturing systems.

The deployment uses Techman Robot’s built-in vision technology, which integrates visual recognition directly with the robot arm. This setup allows the cobots to identify parts and adjust to workpieces of different sizes and shapes without requiring external camera systems. Jinpao Precision uses the system for operations such as screw fastening, rivet hole punching, and tolerance inspection, while also supporting automated quality inspection during production and reducing setup time during line changes.

The rollout spans ten manufacturing processes across Jinpao Precision’s production lines, including fastening, riveting, stamping, spray painting, and spot welding. Project data shows the automation program freed up approximately 80,000 hours of annual human labor. After training, Jinpao Precision’s internal automation team replicated eight automated stations on a server assembly line within one month.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

AI vision is making collaborative robots viable for high-mix, low-volume manufacturing, one of the last production environments that traditional automation struggled to handle.
