Meta’s Ray-Ban smartglasses are launching in India, introducing voice-controlled AI and hands-free connectivity to local users. Starting at ₹29,900, the launch marks the debut of Meta’s wearable technology in the Indian market.

The glasses offer seamless, real-time translation between English, French, Italian, and Spanish, even offline with preloaded packs, enabling conversations across languages in diverse settings. With Meta AI integrated, Indian users can ask for help with cooking, translate directions, identify songs, or send messages via WhatsApp, Instagram, and Messenger just by saying, “Hey Meta.” Music services like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music are also supported when the device language is set to English.

Available in the classic Wayfarer (standard and large) and the new Skyler design, the Ray-Ban Meta collection includes clear, sun, polarized, and transitions lenses, and can be fitted with prescription lenses. The Skyler frame, introduced in Shiny Chalky Grey, is designed for broader fit compatibility. All styles are built to blend everyday fashion with smart functionality tailored to Indian consumers.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

Meta has an early lead in connected eyewear, and expanding to India helps entrench that position ahead of rival entries like Google’s, announced at I/O with partners including Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.
