  • Meta’s live translation tool is now globally available, while continuous visual recognition is slated to launch soon in North America.
  • Three new Skyler frame combinations expand the glasses’ style range with updated colors and lenses.

Ray-Ban Meta glasses now support real-time language translation across all markets. The feature, activated by voice, enables conversations in English, French, Italian, and Spanish. Translated speech is played through the glasses, and transcripts are shown on a paired phone. It also works offline when language packs are downloaded in advance.

Meta plans to expand its AI capabilities further with an upcoming update in the U.S. and Canada. The new functionality will allow Meta AI to continuously interpret what the wearer sees, enabling more natural, context-aware interactions without repeating wake commands.

Meta also added three new Skyler combinations: Shiny Chalky Gray with Transitions Sapphire lenses, Shiny Black with G15 Green lenses, and Shiny Black with Clear lenses.

🌀 Tom's Take:

Translation is being positioned as a flagship feature for AI-powered eyewear, making Meta’s global rollout a meaningful step. However, the real breakthrough is continuous visual recognition, giving Meta AI a live feed of the wearer’s view and unlocking spatial context that transforms how prompts are understood.
