Kia has introduced a concept car, Vision Meta Turismo, featuring immersive design and digital technology. Revealed during the brand’s 80th anniversary, the vehicle combines an open, lounge-style interior, performance features, and augmented reality and interactive displays to showcase a new type of driving experience.

“The Vision Meta Turismo embodies Kia’s vision that integrates dynamic mobility and human-centered spaces. It is an expression of Kia’s commitment to continually bring technologically advanced mobility and experiences that engage, stimulate, and inspire,” said Karim Habib, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design, in an official news release.

The Vision Meta Turismo features an AR Head-Up Display that projects three-dimensional virtual graphics above the road. Built into a redesigned steering interface, the system offers three digital modes, Speedster, Dreamer, and Gamer, each delivering a different digital experience for the driver. The interior combines digital features with a spacious, lounge-style layout to support a more immersive in-vehicle experience. Kia describes the design as enhancing interaction between people and the vehicle through technology and distinctive form.

The vehicle, which Kia says "embodies Kia’s vision for a new era of mobility," uses the company's “Opposites United” design philosophy, which combines soft surfaces with geometric shapes to create a futuristic exterior. Kia says more information on the concept is expected soon.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

A car interior offers a rare closed environment where AR can fully surround the user. Kia's Vision Meta Turismo concept gives a glimpse into just how immersive that can become.
