- Players use motion tracking and projection tech to solve puzzles and battle iconic villains.
Immersive Gamebox and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences have teamed up to launch Batman at Immersive Gamebox, a new location-based AR game opening worldwide on April 4, 2025. Designed for groups of two to six, the experience blends interactive technology with narrative-driven challenges inspired by the DC Universe.
"We're thrilled to partner with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences to bring Batman to life in this one-of-a-kind immersive adventure," said Lisa Paton, President and CEO of Immersive Gamebox in the company's press release.
Players navigate Gotham City through a series of immersive missions, using touch-sensitive walls, projection mapping, and 3D motion tracking to interact with the environment. The game invites fans to solve puzzles, scale buildings, and drive the Batmobile while confronting classic villains like The Joker, Harley Quinn, Bane, Poison Ivy, and The Riddler.
This Batman-themed experience is exclusive to Immersive Gamebox and designed to merge interactive group play with cinematic storytelling. It builds on familiar characters and environments while introducing hands-on mechanics that turn Gotham City into a collaborative, spatial challenge.
🌀 Tom's Take:
Location-based entertainment is a compelling way to introduce the masses to immersive technologies such as augmented reality. People are craving a new "third-place" to gather and play—a destination that combines place, people, novel tech and powerful IP could be just what they are looking for.
