YouGov Survey Finds Most UK Adults Uninterested in Buying Smartglasses

- Just 22% of respondents said they were very or fairly interested in smartglasses.
- Interest was highest among men and 18–24-year-olds, with 63% of those 65+ not at all interested.
A new YouGov survey shows limited public enthusiasm for smartglasses among UK adults. Only 6% reported being "very interested" in buying or using smart glasses, while 16% said they were "fairly interested." In contrast, 73% expressed low or no interest.
The data reveals notable differences by gender and age. Among men, 28% expressed some level of interest, compared to just 15% of women. Younger respondents were more receptive: 13% of those aged 18–24 said they were very interested, while only 3% of those 65 and over said the same.
Despite growing developments in wearable tech, nearly half of all adults (49%) said they were not at all interested. This rises sharply to 63% in the 65+ group, suggesting adoption barriers may persist among older demographics.
🌀 Tom’s Take:
YouGov's survey shows that while the tech may be getting more ready for the mainstream, there is much to be done to educate and inspire everyday consumers on why they should adopt them.
