World Labs Launches API for On-Demand 3D World Generation
- The World API turns text, images, and video into fully explorable 3D environments.
- It brings Marble’s world modeling system to developers via a public, programmable interface.
World Labs has launched World API, a tool for generating explorable 3D environments from text, images, panoramas, and video. Powered by Marble, the company’s multimodal world model, the API turns everyday media into spatial worlds.

The World API turns Marble into a model developers can call directly. By submitting text, images, or video, they receive a fully explorable 3D environment generated asynchronously and ready to use. There’s no setup, no proprietary tools, and no need for 3D experience. Worlds can be integrated into apps, creative tools, or simulations, making spatial creation a programmable step that fits into existing workflows. Developers can use the API through the World Labs Platform, where they can create keys, track usage, and access docs.
The company says the platform is already being used in filmmaking, robotics, simulation, and architecture. They highlight teams like Escape.ai, which are turning 2D video into interactive environments, and Fenestra, which uses the API to generate spatial walkthroughs from design inputs.
🌀 Tom’s Take:
The API turns Marble from a model into a tool. Developers can now generate and use 3D worlds programmatically, inside products, workflows, and systems.
