White Castle Debuts Coco Robot Deliveries on Uber Eats in Chicago

- White Castle has started robotic food delivery in Chicago using Coco Robotics on the Uber Eats app.
- Checkmate connects Uber Eats to White Castle’s in-store system for real-time order syncing.
White Castle has entered the world of robotic delivery, teaming up with Coco Robotics and Uber Eats to serve customers in Chicago. This marks White Castle’s first use of autonomous delivery and is aimed at easing parking congestion, speeding up order times, and keeping busy locations running smoothly.
Coco’s delivery bots have been active in Chicago since 2024 and are built to navigate dense, urban areas. With over 500,000 trips completed in cities across the U.S. and Europe, the company says its robots are designed for reliability, regardless of weather or sidewalk condition.
Checkmate handles the integration behind the scenes. It connects orders between Uber Eats and White Castle’s in-store systems, keeping everything in sync as Coco’s robots make the last-mile drop. When the food arrives, customers receive a prompt through the app to meet the bot outside and collect their food.
"Expanding our partnership with Coco Robotics to include White Castle's autonomous deliveries in Chicago is another exciting milestone," said Megan Jensen, Head of Autonomous Delivery Operations at Uber Eats, in an official press release. "Thanks to Checkmate's integration, merchants can access autonomous delivery with no added complexity - helping us deliver more seamlessly integrated solutions as restaurants embrace new technologies.
🌀 Tom’s Take:
White Castle joins Subway, Wingstop, and Jack in the Box among fast-food chains turning to robotic delivery. By plugging into existing on-demand systems, Coco’s bots can roll out quickly and start moving meals with minimal disruption.
