The light engine delivers full-color, high-brightness visuals from a 0.7 cc module, paired with a slim form factor and discreet styling. Features include support for prescription lenses and a design optimized for daily use without bulk or external attachments.

"This reference design represents a major milestone in making truly wearable AR glasses accessible to broader markets," said Edward Tang, CEO of Avegant, in a press release. "By combining the extremely small and efficient AG-30L3 with Vuzix's world-class waveguide optics and Quanta's manufacturing expertise, we are providing OEMs a complete, production-ready platform that accelerates time to market."

Quanta Computer will handle design and manufacturing to support OEM scalability. Evaluation units and engineering documentation will be available to select partners starting in Q1 2026.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

Pairing Avegant’s micro-display with Vuzix optics tackles some of AR’s hardest hardware problems, size, weight, and clarity, by letting each player focus on what they do best.
