  • Vention introduced Rapid Operator AI as a ready-to-deploy system for automating deep bin picking in manufacturing settings.
  • The system combines robotics, vision, control, and AI into one package and reports up to 99% first-pick success rates.

Vention announced the commercial launch of Rapid Operator AI at NVIDIA GTC 2026, introducing a system designed to automate deep bin picking in manufacturing environments. The release focuses on deploying physical AI to address labor shortages, production variability, and scalability challenges.

The system is delivered as an integrated setup that includes a robotic arm and pedestal, two-finger gripper, vision camera, MachineMotion AI controller, and operator interface. It runs on Vention’s GRIIP pipeline, which connects perception and motion using models such as NVIDIA FoundationStereo and FoundationPose. It detects randomly oriented parts, estimates pose, and executes collision-free grasps, while new items can be added through CAD-based configuration without retraining.

Rapid Operator AI is designed for multi-shift manufacturing environments where part variability and presentation make automation difficult. It supports a range of materials and lighting conditions, handles containers up to 24 inches deep, and retries failed picks automatically. The company reports up to 99% first-pick success rates and states the system can operate with minimal supervision while fully emptying bins.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

Turning variable bin picking into a repeatable system is key to scaling automation across real manufacturing environments.
