  • Appetronix secured over $10 million in seed funding to accelerate the deployment of its robotic kitchen systems.
  • Backers include AlleyCorp and the Grote family, who supported a successful airport launch with Donatos earlier this year.

Appetronix, a company developing robotic systems for commercial kitchens, has raised more than $10 million in total seed funding. The latest round was backed by AlleyCorp, now a three-time investor, and the Grote family. With the new funding, Appetronix will launch more robotic kitchens in places like airports, hospitals, and office buildings, focusing on consistent quality and efficient operations.

Appetronix proved out its model with Donatos, a 460-location pizza chain founded by investor Jim Grote. Their first robotic kitchen launched in June 2025 at John Glenn Columbus International Airport and outperformed expectations, handling high volume while maintaining Donatos’ food quality.

Appetronix plans to add new types of cuisine and expand into more high-traffic venues. Its kitchen systems are built to run 24/7, keep food quality high, and scale to fit different spaces, all with little need for staff.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

A proven rollout with Donatos gave Appetronix the traction it needed. Now the funding sets them up to scale fast into new formats and venues.
