The necklace includes a built-in microphone tuned for everyday environments, allowing hands-free capture of voice notes, reflections, and reminders. Its AI processes recordings privately, generating automatic summaries and transcriptions within 2–5 seconds. All recordings sync to the Taya mobile app, where users can search and retrieve their moments on demand. Battery life lasts 12–18 hours of active use or up to five days on standby. The product is also designed to pass what the founders call the “dead battery test,” in that you’d still want to wear it even when it’s off.
Taya was founded by two Stanford-trained engineers with Apple hardware experience. Its necklace offers voice-first features in a minimalist form, aiming to replace gadget-like wearables with jewelry people actually want to wear. The company has opened up a limited number of pre-orders available at $89 with shipping expected in the Summer of 2026.
🌀 Tom’s Take:
Taya joins Friend and Pendant in a growing class of AI necklaces that listen and let you talk to an assistant about your day. It stands out by feeling more like jewelry than a gadget, prioritizing wearability.
