Swiss Safety VR Brings Immersive Training to Over Two Million People

- Suva and BearingPoint have launched a virtual reality platform that simulates real-world safety risks through 20-minute training sessions.
- The program is free for all Swiss organizations and available in four languages on Meta Quest 3.
Suva, Switzerland’s leading accident insurer, partnered with BearingPoint to launch Swiss Safety VR, a virtual reality platform that delivers practical safety training to more than two million insured individuals. In 20-minute modules, users face real-life hazards and see the impact of missed precautions, learning through clear, hands-on guidance how to prevent accidents.
The project delivers a complete operating model with a flexible tech architecture and rollout support, including scenario simulation and train-the-trainer services to integrate the system into Suva’s workflows. Its continually updated library of XR experiences provides a scalable, real-world alternative to traditional training.
“The Swiss Safety VR platform allows us to offer truly engaging and effective training experiences that not only motivate participants but significantly improve safety outcomes. We chose to work with BearingPoint because their expertise and innovative approach were a perfect match for Suva’s commitment to advancing safety training,” said Nathanaël Bonvin, Programme Manager for New Technologies at Suva, in an official press release.
Suva and BearingPoint also partnered with trade associations and construction firms to co-develop content, helping expand access and reduce costs. The platform runs on Meta Quest 3 and is available free of charge in German, French, Italian, and English to all Swiss organizations, including schools.
🌀 Tom’s Take:
Working with industry partners ensures the content reflects real-world scenarios, while embedding the platform into Suva’s workflows makes VR a core part of how safety training is delivered nationwide.
