Supercars and Pizza Hut Launch First-Ever AR Racing Game in Australia

- Pizza Hut customers can scan a QR code on special boxes to play Mount Pizzarama, a new WebAR racing game.
- Players can win tickets, rides, and merchandise for the 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000 by entering the competition.
Supercars has partnered with Pizza Hut to launch Mount Pizzarama, an augmented reality racing experience linked to the 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000. The campaign began August 15 and runs through September 26.
Specially marked Pizza Hut boxes across Australia feature a QR code that unlocks the game, where fans can drive a virtual Supercar on a fictional version of Mount Panorama. The experience is accessible from home and playable on mobile devices using WebAR powered by 8th Wall. T&DA is the Sydney-based creative design and technology agency that designed the gameplay.
“For years, we’ve wanted to create an AR racing experience, but finding the right platform and partner was key. When this opportunity with Supercars and Pizza Hut came along, it felt like the perfect fit, a fun, interactive way to put fans right in the driver’s seat," said T&DA Executive Director Tyrone Estephan, in a news release.
Participants who play and enter the Mount Pizzarama competition have a chance to win two four-day general admission tickets with paddock access, course car rides, grid walks, and Supercars merchandise packs for the 2025 event.
🌀 Tom’s Take:
Pizza Hut is not new to AR. Its pizza boxes have been the jumping-off point for many AR games, including turning into a PAC-MAN arcade console. Mount Pizzarama continues this use, asking customers to scan a QR code to activate an augmented reality racing track they can place anywhere in their space.
