  • Riders in Los Angeles, Phoenix, and San Francisco can now play Spotify through Waymo vehicles.
  • Accounts link via the Waymo app or in-car display, with music controls and audio settings available during the ride.

Spotify integration is now live in Waymo’s autonomous rides across San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Phoenix, giving riders a way to bring their playlists along for the trip. You can link your account ahead of time in the Waymo app or connect right from the screen inside the car.

Only the person who books the ride can control what’s playing, but Premium users can start a group session so others can join in. Once you’re connected, your account stays linked for future rides, though playback always ends when the trip does.

Riders can also fine-tune the sound using an equalizer, adjusting levels like bass, treble, and fade directly in the app.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

Waymo already does a great job of personalizing the ride, like lighting up your initials on the roof when the car arrives or greeting you by name as you step in. Adding even more touches that make the driverless experience feel tailored, such as having your playlists ready to go in any vehicle, is a smart move that will likely boost customer retention.
