Simbe Launches Tally 4.0 to Advance Real-Time Shelf Intelligence
- Tally 4.0 introduces expanded 3D sensing, sharper vision, and upgraded edge AI, with up to 12 hours of runtime.
- Built on NVIDIA’s full-stack platform, the robot enhances in-store data capture and accelerates shelf-level decision-making.
Simbe Robotics has launched Tally 4.0, the newest version of its autonomous shelf-scanning robot built for its Store Intelligence platform. The updated model improves on previous generations with faster data capture, longer runtime, and expanded store coverage. The company says that this robot reflects ten years of development with large retail partners focused on real-time shelf visibility and is "the most advanced optical and sensing system in the store intelligence landscape."

Tally 4.0 features a high-resolution imaging system, upgraded specialty cameras, and expanded 3D and 360-degree coverage, including dual fisheye lenses for panoramic views. These additions are designed to capture more accurate data across complex store environments, especially in areas that are typically difficult to scan, like coolers, hooks, and recessed shelves. Running on NVIDIA’s full-stack AI infrastructure with CUDA, TensorRT, and DOCA Argus, the robot processes data in real time, reducing latency and enabling faster, more reliable insights at the shelf level.
"The future of retail depends on closing the gap between digital decision-making and physical execution," said Brad Bogolea, Co-Founder and CEO of Simbe, in a press release. "With Tally 4 we're delivering the next foundation of shelf-level data infrastructure that connects the two, giving retailers a trusted source of ground truth to power AI-driven operations at enterprise scale."
The company says that Tally 4.0 enables use cases ranging from shelf availability and price accuracy to planogram compliance and item location tracking. It also supports more advanced operations such as forecasting, replenishment, and omnichannel fulfillment by providing real-time shelf data across the store. The robot will be available to Simbe customers starting in mid-2026.
🌀 Tom’s Take:
Tally 4.0 closes retail’s biggest gap, blind spots. By capturing hard-to-scan areas, it turns shelf data into something retailers can actually trust and act on.
