SiMa.ai Gains $85M to Grow Edge-Focused Physical AI Solutions

- The new round brings total funding to $355 million to support international growth and product development.
- The company’s flagship platform, SiMa.ai ONE, combines custom chips with a software suite for edge AI deployment.
SiMa.ai has raised $85 million in new funding to grow its physical AI platform. The round was led by Maverick Capital and included participation from StepStone Group, bringing the company’s total capital raised to $355 million.
“This new funding further validates our leadership in the Physical AI space and the growing demand for Physical AI solutions that deliver best-in-class performance per watt with industry-leading ease of use,” said Krishna Rangasayee, Founder and CEO at SiMa.ai, in an official press release. “With strong support from new and existing investors, we’re scaling quickly to extend our competitive lead and meet global customer demand across robotics, automotive, industrial automation, aerospace & defense, smart vision, and healthcare.
The company’s full-stack platform, SiMa.ai ONE, integrates Modalix, a second-generation multimodal chip, with Palette, a software suite that includes an SDK and Edgematic, a no-code development tool. Built on a unified architecture, the platform supports major machine learning frameworks covering vision, transformers, and generative AI.
SiMa.ai plans to use the funding to expand internationally, advance its automotive roadmap, and invest further in customer support. Its platform is used across industries such as robotics, aerospace, healthcare, and industrial automation, where low power use and fast performance are key.
🌀 Tom’s Take:
It’s easy to forget how much complexity sits at the edge. Running machine perception locally means the hardware and software have to work together seamlessly. This round is a reminder that making that connection easier can drive real-world adoption.
