  • Serve Robotics has acquired the assets of Phantom Auto and its subsidiary Voysys for approximately $5.75 million.
  • Voysys’ ultra-low latency teleoperation and video streaming tech is now integrated into Serve’s Level 4 autonomy platform.

Serve Robotics disclosed that it acquired the assets of Phantom Auto and its subsidiary Voysys AB earlier this year to enhance connectivity and teleoperation across its growing fleet of delivery robots. The $5.75 million deal gives Serve Robotics access to Voysys' low-latency video and data streaming solutions that enable connection to autonomous vehicles, machinery, and robots over different types of networks.

Serve Robotics has already integrated Voysys into its Level 4 autonomy platform offering, which is running a production fleet of hundreds of robots. The company reports this has already shown to lower latency and better connection quality, which is expected to reduce infrastructure costs and support scaling. Voysys will also continue to operate independently, supporting clients such as a European vehicle manufacturer and robotics firm Maniro AI. Serve will maintain and expand its existing contracts as well as support the expansion of Voysys' capabilities as part of Serve’s Software & Data Services platform.

This move follows Serve's earlier acquisition of Vayu Robotics to advance foundation AI-based autonomy. The company says that both deals represent Serve's push to consolidate mission-critical capabilities as it grows its robot fleet and recurring software revenue.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

Reliable video streaming lets operators step in fast to keep sidewalk delivery robots moving. It can also provide the footage they need to train better autonomy over time.
