  • Sandbox VR will open its first Italy location in Treviso this December, led by local company Immexia Srl.
  • The agreement includes plans for up to 40 sites across Italy, with total investment expected to reach €60 million.

Sandbox VR is bringing its virtual reality experiences to Italy. Entrepreneurs Vito Scavo and Alessandro Bergamo have secured exclusive rights to launch the brand through their company, Immexia Srl. The first location will open in Treviso, backed by a €1.5 million investment.

The Treviso location will open on Viale della Repubblica this December. It was chosen both for its economic potential and because it is the hometown of the founding team. Scavo and Bergamo will use the launch to refine the customer experience before rolling out additional sites.

The full plan includes up to 40 locations across Italy, backed by €60 million in investment. Sandbox VR was founded in 2016 in San Francisco and now operates more than 60 venues globally. It offers group VR adventures with motion tracking and haptic feedback, and has partnered with Netflix on content based on Squid Game and Stranger Things.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

Sandbox VR is growing fast, with over 60 locations worldwide and 117,000 players a month, according to the company. Italy is its next big move.
