Prada May Follow Oakley in Meta AI Eyewear Line

- Prada and Meta are reportedly planning to release a pair of AI glasses, according to CNBC.
- CNBC also reported new details on the Oakley collaboration, including a $360 price point and water-resistant design.
Prada may follow Oakley as the next eyewear brand to partner with Meta on its AI smartglasses, according to a report by CNBC. Neither Meta nor Prada has commented on the report, and a release date for the Prada line has not yet been announced.
This wouldn't be the first luxury fashion house to collaborate with Meta on its connected eyewear. In May of this year, Coperni debuted its limited edition version of the Meta Ray-Ban glasses at Paris Fashion Week as part of its Fall/Winter 2025 fashion show. The Ray-Ban Meta x Coperni Limited Edition was sold to just 3,600 customers and featured the same capabilities as the standard Meta Ray-Ban.
Before Prada, we are to expect an Oakley pair of AI glasses. Both Oakley and Meta teased a collaboration earlier this week, citing Friday, June 10, as the date to learn more. According to CNBC, the two companies are set to debut a water-resistant, Oakley-branded version of the Meta AI glasses, designed for use during physical activity. The device is expected to have capabilities similar to those of the existing Meta Ray-Ban and cost around $360, a price comparable to the current Ray-Ban offering.
Both the Oakley and Prada collaborations are tied to Meta’s long-standing partnership with EssilorLuxottica, which manages licensing and production for these eyewear brands.
🌀 Tom’s Take:
Prada would mark a major addition to Meta’s growing lineup of AI glasses. The brand carries strong global recognition and cultural cachet, recently earning a spot among the top designer labels in the 2024 Lyst Index. Like Ray-Ban and Oakley, each eyewear brand speaks to a distinct audience, so if the reports prove accurate, adding Prada could also extend the reach of Meta’s connected eyewear to new market segments.
