  • Pony.ai’s Robotaxi fleet reached 961 vehicles by late November, with its Gen-7 platform now operating at breakeven in Guangzhou.
  • Fully driverless service is active in major Chinese cities, with expanded coverage in Shenzhen pushing the number of stop locations past 10,000.

Pony.ai says its Robotaxi fleet has grown to 961 vehicles as of late November, with 667 of those built on its newest Gen-7 platform, according to its Q3 financial results. The company claims its Gen-7 vehicles have reached city-wide breakeven, meaning operating costs are now covered by revenue, a milestone it calls critical to expansion. It aims to exceed its target of 1,000 vehicles by year-end and reach 3,000 by the end of next year.

In China, Pony.ai is operating fully driverless robotaxi services in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Beijing. It also expanded coverage in Shanghai and added more service zones in Shenzhen, where pickup and drop-off locations have grown by more than 300% since June, now totaling more than 10,000. Globally, Pony.ai expanded to eight countries through strategic partnerships, including a new entry into Qatar and extended collaborations in Singapore, Luxembourg, and South Korea.

Pony.ai recently unveiled its fourth-generation Robotruck, designed for thousand-unit scale deployment starting in 2026. The company is deepening partnerships with SANY Group and Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor to support its robotruck rollout and broader commercialization strategy.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

Fleet size is a clear signal that Pony.ai sees its tech and business model ready for real-world scale. Hitting breakeven backs this up with actual operating proof.
