Pony.ai closed 2025 with 1,159 robotaxis in operation, exceeding its goal of 1,000 vehicles. The company called the year a turning point for fleet scale and deployment execution in a LinkedIn update.
The company highlighted several milestones it had achieved in 2025 including expanding fully driverless operations across Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, a first, its says, in China. Its Gen-7 fleet entered commercial service and reached unit economics breakeven in Guangzhou. This year, Pony.ai also unveiled its fourth-generation robotruck, developed with SANY Truck and other partners, designed for a thousand-unit scale deployment starting in 2026.
Pony.ai also celebrated its listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, which the company describes as the "world’s largest autonomous driving IPO in 2025." Its global footprint now spans eight countries, supported by ecosystem partners.
🌀 Tom’s Take:
Surpassing 1,000 vehicles puts Pony.ai in a strong position to reach its stated 3,000-fleet goal in 2026. It also signals a solid operational foothold across the globe.
