Pearson Opens Innovation Hub for AI and Immersive Learning R&D

• Pearson has launched “Pearson Lab” to develop scalable learning solutions using generative AI and immersive technologies.
• New partnerships with Meta, Google Android XR, and Vū Technologies will support prototype testing and co-development inside the London-based facility.

Pearson has announced the launch of Pearson Lab, a new research and innovation space located at its London headquarters. The Lab aims to speed up the creation of new educational tools that use emerging technologies for both schools and workplaces.

Chief Technology Officer Dave Treat will oversee the Lab, which will focus on generative AI and immersive learning. The team will develop and test prototypes alongside customers and partners, using their input to guide product development.

"The Lab will be a collaborative space where we can explore not only how emerging technologies are changing the way we learn today, but also how they could shape the learning of tomorrow. By harnessing cutting-edge technology, such as AI and XR, we can envision new ways to transform learning.”

Pearson has entered innovation agreements with Meta for Education, Google’s Android XR, and Vū Technologies to support the Lab’s immersive learning agenda. These collaborations will provide access to XR hardware, development platforms, and immersive display systems to help the Lab team explore and co-develop new educational experiences.
