Meta and Oakley have unveiled Oakley Meta HSTN (pronounced HOW-stuhn), the first model in a new line of Performance AI glasses. The device blends Oakley’s recognizable design with Meta’s AI and camera technology, aimed at athletes and sports fans.

Oakley Meta HSTN features a 3K video camera, IPX4 water resistance, and open-ear audio. Users can interact with Meta AI to record videos or enhance training sessions, all hands-free. Battery life supports up to eight hours of use, with a charging case offering 48 additional hours on the go.

Preorders for the limited-edition version open July 11 at $499 USD, with wider availability and lower-priced models rolling out later. The glasses will premiere publicly at Fanatics Fest and UFC International Fight Week, highlighting the growing convergence of AI, sports, and wearable tech. 🌀 Tom’s Take:

Oakley expands Meta AI glasses to a new brand, design, and demographic: athletes and fitness goers. It has made some great tweaks to the capabilities of the Meta Ray-Ban, like water resistance, which should resonate with this new audience.
