  • Nuro closed a $203 million Series E round at a $6 billion valuation, adding new investors including Uber, NVIDIA, and Kindred Ventures.
  • The funding will scale its Nuro Driver system and support commercial deployments with partners like Lucid and Uber.

Nuro announced it has closed a $203 million Series E funding round, following an initial $106 million tranche disclosed in April. The final round includes new investors such as Uber, Icehouse Ventures, Kindred Ventures, NVIDIA, and Pledge Ventures, alongside returning backers like Baillie Gifford.

The funding will accelerate deployment of the company’s AI-first Nuro Driver, which combines custom hardware with large-scale AI models. Nuro offers the system to automakers and mobility providers as a cost-effective path to autonomy across fleet and personal vehicles.

Nuro also expanded its relationship with NVIDIA to include investment, building on years of technical collaboration. Its latest compute module runs on NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor, and the company joined NVIDIA’s Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab in June. Previously announced partnerships with Lucid and Uber aim to integrate the Nuro Driver into over 20,000 vehicles for global robotaxi services.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

This funding from Uber and NVIDIA suggests a deepening of their relationship with Nuro, which could enrich the technology and help scale the solution globally.
