Arc 3 Headset Brings AI-Powered Voice Control to Frontline Work
- Arc 3 introduces a lighter design and natural language controls for hands-free use in industrial settings.
- Ari OS enables AI-assisted workflows and will expand to other RealWear devices and third-party hardware.
RealWear has launched the Arc 3, a lightweight AR headset built for hands-free use by frontline workers in environments that require protective gear, such as helmets and safety glasses. It supports voice commands for tasks like calls, messaging, and taking photos, and enables AI-assisted workflows. The headset runs on RealWear’s new operating system, Ari OS, which uses natural language input to control applications.
“Having successfully served industries that require a heavy ruggedization headset, we are expanding the use case for our hardware and technology for new environments," said Sebastian Beetschen, CEO of RealWear, in a press release. "We know there is demand for a new solution from industry such as manufacturing, robotics, clinical, pharma and healthcare environments. Arc 3 delivers on that. With the addition of Ari OS, we are democratizing access to a much wider pool of users beyond technical specialists to work more efficiently. It will be as seamless as talking to ChatGPT.”
The Arc 3 is a 179-gram headset with a see-through display that has double retina resolution and shows 40% more detail than other headsets, according to the company. It includes a dual camera system for high-quality imaging and is designed for fast, intuitive use. The lighter design supports all-day wear and expands use cases in logistics, warehousing, and healthcare. It complements existing ruggedized RealWear devices like the Navigator 520, which have been optimized for industrial use.

The company's new operating system, Ari OS, powers the headset’s natural language capabilities. This allows users to control applications and access AI-enabled workflows with their voice without needing to follow specific prompts. The operating system is also set to roll out to current RealWear devices and will be licensed to other hardware makers, aiming to establish a unified voice-first interface standard for assisted reality headsets.
The Arc 3 is available now through a subscription that includes repairs, upgrades, and support, and is already being used by customers like BMW and Goodyear to improve service speed and project execution.
"This deployment has been pivotal in enhancing our service efficiency. By solving issues faster, we get customers back into their cars sooner, furthering our commitment to providing the best possible service experience" said Claus Eberhart - VP Aftersales, BMW of North America, in a press release.
