MAX2 builds on GoPro’s Emmy-winning 360 tech with key upgrades for spatial capture. It shoots in full-range 10-bit True 8K, supports over a billion color gradations via GP Log, and captures 29MP stills that offer flexibility for reframing. A six-microphone array delivers 360 audio, with ambisonic support coming soon, while built-in GPS and cold-weather battery support expand its use in varied environments. AI-powered editing in the Quik app, including MotionFrame and object tracking, streamlines the workflow for creating immersive 360 content.
MAX2 is available now for preorder at $499.99, with retail availability starting September 30. Exclusive mounting accessories are also available, which enable invisible, drone-like shots for capturing dynamic perspectives.
