Magic Leap has entered a manufacturing agreement with Pegatron, a global electronics producer, to support the large-scale production of components for augmented reality glasses. Pegatron will apply its high-precision manufacturing capabilities to produce Magic Leap’s waveguides and other optical elements.

The collaboration pairs Magic Leap’s optical and materials expertise with Pegatron’s large-scale manufacturing capabilities. Both companies aim to speed up production of AR components that meet commercial standards for quality, reliability, and volume.

In a news release, both companies emphasized the importance of aligning component innovation with production readiness. By combining their respective strengths, the collaboration aims to help meet demand for advanced AR systems as well as support the evolution of the broader AR technology ecosystem.
