At CES 2026, Lucid, Nuro, and Uber showed off the production-intent version of their robotaxi, along with a first look at the in-cabin rider experience. The vehicle is based on Lucid’s Gravity SUV and brings together Nuro’s self-driving tech, Uber’s ride interface, and a roof-mounted halo packed with sensors for 360-degree awareness.

The robotaxi includes high-resolution cameras, solid-state lidar, and radar, built into the body and a low-profile roof halo to provide 360-degree coverage. LED lights on the halo display rider initials and update the trip status. Inside, screens allow passengers to adjust climate, seat heating, and music, see what the vehicle is doing in real time, contact support, or ask the vehicle to pull over. The cabin holds up to six people with room for luggage. NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor handles the real-time processing for autonomous driving.

Production is planned to begin at Lucid’s Arizona factory later this year, pending final validation.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

The Bay Area rollout is the first real test of how Lucid, Nuro, and Uber plan to take this robotaxi from concept to commercial service. The December road testing shows they’re moving beyond showroom demos.
