  • The new K7 robot is built to patrol large outdoor areas and operate around the clock across uneven terrain.
  • It brings autonomous security to spaces that are too large, remote, or hazardous for traditional patrol methods.

Knightscope introduced the K7, a new security robot built to patrol large outdoor areas. It can operate continuously and handle uneven terrain while keeping watch over places like fence lines, warehouses, and industrial sites. Knightscope is accepting early access sign-ups for the K7 ahead of limited production expected to begin deployment in the second half of 2026.

The K7 combines light-duty, off-road performance with AI-powered surveillance tools that detect, deter, and report activity in real time. Using an advanced sensor array, it autonomously watches, listens, and patrols. It can cover areas like long fence lines, open terrain, and industrial sites where fixed cameras or security guards are less effective.

“The K7 represents the next frontier in autonomous physical security,” said William Santana Li, Chairman and CEO, Knightscope, Inc., in a press release. â€śWe designed it to secure environments previously considered too large, too remote, or too dangerous for conventional solutions – and to do so reliably, affordably, and without compromise – designed and built in America to protect Americans.”

Knightscope was founded in 2013 to develop physical security technologies that combine robotics, AI, and software. Its product line includes the K5, a fully autonomous security robot used in public spaces, campuses, and businesses. The K7 expands on this with off-road mobility and long-range patrolling for larger outdoor environments, supporting the company’s broader mission to improve safety across the United States.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

The K5 gave Knightscope a foothold in structured spaces like campuses and corporate sites, but the K7 pushes that boundary into remote, rugged terrain. This moves the opportunity from local patrol to perimeter-grade coverage.
