HealthpointCapital Acquires XR Surgical Planning Firm ImmersiveTouch

- HealthpointCapital has acquired a majority stake in ImmersiveTouch, a developer of virtual and augmented reality tools for surgical planning and navigation.
- The company’s ImmersiveView platform enables surgeons to create interactive 3D plans and visualize procedures using mixed reality headsets.
HealthpointCapital has acquired a majority stake in ImmersiveTouch, whose software enables surgeons to plan procedures in 3D, navigate anatomy in real-time, and visualize surgical guides during operations using mixed-reality headsets. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.
ImmersiveTouch’s ImmersiveView platform transforms standard medical scans, such as CT or MRI images, into lifelike 3D models that surgeons can explore in virtual reality. They can simulate repairs, print physical models, and design patient-specific surgical guides within a timeframe of 12 to 48 hours. During surgery, the digital plan can be projected onto the body through augmented reality glasses. These tools are designed to shorten surgical times and improve team coordination.
HealthpointCapital Managing Partner Mike Mogul said the platform lets surgeons “see through the skin, like x-ray vision,” while ImmersiveTouch founder Pat Banerjee noted the company is working with “a group of surgeon leaders” and is now positioned to grow rapidly with new support.
