- It pairs bright, high-contrast optics with AI-enhanced occlusion handling and customizable HUD software.
HARMAN’s Ready Vision AR HUD is now in production in Europe. The system projects augmented reality content across the windshield, placing information in the driver’s natural line of sight. It is already being used in series production vehicles and is designed as a full-scale, in-market solution.
The system uses redesigned optics and mirror architecture to maintain brightness levels up to 15,000 nits. Image processing features include local dimming, pixel compensation, and gamma correction, developed in collaboration with Samsung. On the software side, the AR HUD includes an updated framework, AI-based occlusion handling, and configuration tools that let OEMs adjust layout and visual elements.
New features aim to blend safety and performance including a Sports Package that combines sensor fusion with track dynamics, as well as curve speed warnings that alert drivers based on road conditions.
🌀 Tom’s Take:
HARMAN's AR HUD in production means more people in Europe will have a chance to experience what may be their first time with heads-up augmented reality.
