  • Genies’ tools let Unity developers generate fully rigged, game-ready avatars and assets across a wide range of styles.
  • Smart Avatars and in-game UGC tools unlock real-time AI interactions and player-driven content creation.

Genies and Unity have joined forces to tackle a major challenge in game development: creating rich, expressive characters and assets without overwhelming production pipelines. Now entering beta, the integration brings Genies’ Smart Avatar system and user-generated content tools directly into the Unity ecosystem, giving developers a faster path to high-quality, game-ready assets styled and rigged for immediate use.

At the core of the integration is Genies’ Smart Avatar system, built to bring dynamic characters into gameplay without the usual production overhead. These AI avatars respond to player behavior, carry memory across sessions, and exhibit evolving personalities. Whether developers script them as key NPCs or let players design their own companions, the result is a more interactive, personalized experience that adapts over time.

Genies is also bringing powerful user-generated content tools directly into gameplay. Players can describe what they want—like a “neon mushroom umbrella” or “lava tuxedo”—and see those ideas instantly rendered, modeled, and ready to use. With the Genies Login system, players can carry their avatar identity and inventory across any Genies-integrated title. Upcoming integrations with entertainment and sports IP will offer developers access to recognizable assets and cross-platform publishing opportunities.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

3D content, especially character creation, remains one of the biggest bottlenecks in game development. Genies tackles this head-on with an offering that not only streamlines asset creation, but also brings depth and adaptability to NPCs and a path to brand content. Given their track record with major IP like Warner Music Group, it’ll be worth watching how developers put these tools to work.
