  • Figure has partnered with Brookfield to scale AI training for its Helix model using data from human environments.
  • The collaboration includes funding, infrastructure, and eventual deployment of humanoid robots across Brookfield properties.

Figure has partnered with Brookfield to accelerate the development of its humanoid robots. As part of the deal, Brookfield joined Figure’s Series C funding round and is providing access to its real estate portfolio for AI training and data collection. The focus is on scaling Helix, Figure’s proprietary vision-language-action model, and enabling deployment in commercial settings.

"This partnership marks a major milestone in our journey to build general-purpose humanoid robots," said Brett Adcock, Founder and CEO of Figure, in a press release. "Brookfield's scale gives us an unmatched platform to capture massive amounts of real-world, humanlike navigation and manipulation data across a variety of household environments necessary to unlock general-purpose humanoid robots."

Brookfield’s portfolio, including over 100,000 residential units, 500 million square feet of office space, and 160 million square feet of logistics facilities, will serve as the foundation for Figure’s video-based data collection. Brookfield’s residential, office, and logistics properties will be used to gather video data of people moving through everyday spaces. This data will train Helix to understand how to see, move, and act in real-world settings. The partnership also includes support for building data centers and physical sites to train and test robots.

Figure and Brookfield also plan to test humanoid robots in different parts of Brookfield’s real estate portfolio. These commercial pilots will build on Figure’s early deployments and show how the robots can be used in real-world operations at scale.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

Helix learns by watching, and this deal Brookfield gives it a lot to watch. With access to a vast range of real-world environments, Figure gets a major edge in building the kind of dataset that can actually train general-purpose humanoids.
