- EssilorLuxottica sold more than 7 million AI-glasses units in 2025, with all regions and brands contributing to the total.
- Nuance Audio expanded to 12 markets and 15,000 doors in its first year, as executives linked company growth directly to wearables.
EssilorLuxottica’s AI-glasses business scaled fast in 2025. In its full-year 2025 financial report, the company said it sold more than 7 million units during the year, with momentum across North America, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific. Every region and brand contributed.
It’s audio glasses. Nuance Audio also expanded in its first year. The company said the category is now available in 12 markets and 15k doors worldwide, closing the year “on a promising tone.” The expansion adds to EssilorLuxottica’s growing portfolio of smart eyewear spanning both vision and hearing.
That momentum sat within a broader, strong year for the company. EssilorLuxottica reported full-year revenue of Euro 28,491 million, up 11.2% at constant exchange rates, with fourth-quarter growth of 18.4%. The company said margins were impacted by US tariffs and AI-glasses.
Francesco Milleri, Chairman and CEO, and Paul du Saillant, Deputy CEO at EssilorLuxottica, directly linked the performance to wearables, stating, “Our success in wearables is helping to propel the AI-glasses revolution, with our iconic brands being a powerful driver of demand. At the same time, our breakthroughs in medtech, myopia management, and audiology are cementing our role as a leader across multiple frontiers."
🌀 Tom’s Take:
When the world’s largest eyewear company starts tying its growth directly to wearables, it is no longer a side project, it’s a category shift.
