  • DreamPark is a mixed reality platform that turns real-world locations into immersive digital theme park experiences.
  • It raised $1.1 million in seed funding to expand its network, launch branded content, and grow its rental headset fleet.

DreamPark has announced $1.1 million in seed financing to grow its nationwide network of mixed reality installations. Led by Long Journey Ventures and joined by Founders Inc., the round supports the company’s vision of making physical environments playable through XR overlays accessed via mobile or headset. The founding team includes veterans from Two-Bit Circus and Snap.

“We're not just creating engaging content, we're building a platform that revitalizes communities by giving people a reason to gather, play, and connect in physical spaces in real life,” added Aidan Wolf, co-founder and CEO, DreamPark, in a press release issued by the company. “DreamPark bridges the digital and physical worlds, creating a new category of play where the magic of virtual worlds enhances real-life connections. We're reimagining what's possible when the spaces around us become canvases for shared adventure and imagination.”

Its technology enables real-world locations to become interactive theme parks by scanning physical markers like QR codes, which unlock digital overlays via Meta Quest headsets or mobile devices. Installations are already live at Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade and the LA County Fair, with more planned in Seattle, Orange County, and upcoming expos. The model bypasses costly construction by offering a multiplayer experience deployable without permanent infrastructure.

The funding will accelerate deployment of access points, expansion of its Quest headset rental fleet, and collaborations with branded IPs. The goal is to turn underused spaces into immersive, revenue-generating destinations.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

DreamPark shows how AR can instantly reshape physical spaces using only code—no construction required. Freed from the laws of physics, these virtual layers can deliver otherworldly experiences. As malls and public venues sit underused, mixed reality might be the key to drawing people back into shared spaces.
