Doosan Opens Authorized Robotics Center to Advance Workforce Training in Maine

- Doosan Robotics has opened an Authorized Training Center at the University of Maine’s Advanced Manufacturing Center in Orono.
- The B.O.T. Loft will offer hands-on robotics and automation training to students, professionals, and the general public.
Doosan Robotics is teaming up with the University of Maine to bring a new Authorized Training Center to the school’s Advanced Manufacturing Center. The space, known as the B.O.T. Loft, is built for hands-on training in robotics, automation, and connected systems.
The curriculum includes robot programming, system integration, and industrial applications using Doosan’s technology and other platforms. It’s open to students and the broader community, supported by official lesson plans, training kits, and materials from Doosan Robotics. The training opportunities range from K–12 summer programs to professional certifications.
"Establishing a robust education ecosystem is just as important as developing advanced robot technology," said Hyunsoo Kim, vice president of sales at Doosan Robotics, in an official press release. "By expanding our network of training centers and continuously enhancing our curriculum, we aim to nurture the next generation of robotics experts and drive broader adoption of intelligent robots worldwide."
This is the company’s first university-based training center in North America, adding to its site in Plano, Texas. The initiative also benefits from the presence of Industrial Automation Supply, Doosan’s authorized distributor in Portland, which provides regional manufacturers with access to automation and robotics solutions.
🌀 Tom’s Take:
As automation becomes more widespread, people need training to keep up. Doosan's partnership with the University of Maine is a solid step toward providing more people, across generations, with hands-on experience in the tech.
