  • Rokid Glasses have surpassed $2 million in crowdfunding 20 days after launch, with early-bird pricing still available.
  • The device features dual Micro LED waveguide displays, an open AI ecosystem, and weighs significantly less than Meta’s Ray-Ban Display glasses, according to the company.

Rokid announced its AR smart glasses have exceeded $2 million in Kickstarter pledges, just 20 days into the campaign. The milestone follows an initial $1 million raised at launch and signals strong global demand, according to the company. The funding supports the development and delivery of what Rokid claims are the world’s lightest full-function AI & AR smart glasses.

Weighing just 49 grams, Rokid Glasses are about one-third lighter than Meta’s new 69-gram Ray-Ban Display glasses. Rokid highlights dual-eye Micro LED displays, voice control, and camera features. In a recent press release, the company contrasted its approach to Meta’s newest device, which uses a single-eye HUD and is tied to Meta’s closed app ecosystem. Rokid supports ChatGPT, Google Maps, and custom LLMs through an open SDK.

The campaign remains active with under a month left. Rokid invites early backers to secure units at discounted rates and says the momentum shows rising demand for AI-integrated wearables.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

$2 million in pledges in under three weeks shows there’s real momentum behind smart glasses. Rokid is betting on a lighter pair that works outside a closed ecosystem.
