  • The Holocreator lets users create and share personalized, hologram-style video messages that feature themselves as Star Wars characters.

Coca-Cola and Disney have teamed up for a new global campaign, “Coca-Cola x Star Wars: Refresh Your Galaxy.” The launch features limited-edition cans and bottles that feature an interactive augmented reality experience that lets fans create Star Wars-style holograms.

Fans scan a Coca-Cola can or campaign ad QR code to launch the Holocreator AR experience. After selecting a Star Wars character type, like a Jedi, Sith, Trooper, or pilot, they record a short video message. A virtual holopad is then placed in their space, triggering a holographic projection of themselves delivering the message in full character. The personalized AR hologram can be saved and shared with others.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

Coca-Cola has long been a pioneer in the use of augmented reality with its products. This collaboration with Disney shows how linking AR to packaging can boost engagement while turning consumers into content creators, creating and sharing content featuring the brand and the experience.
