Chef Robotics Teams With ILPRA to Automate End-to-End Food Production
- Chef Robotics has partnered with global packaging company ILPRA to automate both meal assembly and packaging for food manufacturers.
- The collaboration aims to address labor shortages and improve consistency across high-mix production environments.
Chef Robotics has partnered with ILPRA, an Italy-based packaging technology company, to deliver an end-to-end automation system for ready-to-eat and ready-to-heat meals. The companies say the solution is designed to help food manufacturers meet growing demand while reducing labor dependency and maintaining production quality.
The system combines Chef Robotics’ AI-powered robots for portioning and ingredient placement with ILPRA’s tray sealing and form-fill-seal machines. The combined solution supports hundreds of SKUs and adapts to frequent changeovers, enabling flexible automation across fresh and frozen food lines.

Chef Robotics previously announced a similar partnership with Proseal, focused on automating both meal assembly and packaging in high-mix production environments. The company says its robots have already assembled over 70 million meals for manufacturers in North America.
🌀 Tom’s Take:
Partnerships like this are critical to Chef Robotics, as they help create end-to-end systems that make robotic automation practical for food manufacturers.
