BrightAI Raises $51M to Scale Real-Time OS for the Physical World

- BrightAI secured $51 million in Series A funding to expand its AI platform across power, water, gas, HVAC, and safety systems.
- The company has surpassed $100 million in revenue and deployed 250,000 endpoints across 50,000+ locations.
BrightAI announced a $51 million Series A round co-led by Khosla Ventures and Inspired Capital, with additional participation from BoxGroup, Marlinspike, Rsquared VC, and others. The funding will fuel expansion of its AI-driven infrastructure platform, Stateful, and accelerate hiring across engineering, operations, and go-to-market functions.
The company focuses on essential services like power, water, gas, HVAC, and safety systems, sectors it describes as aging and vulnerable to failure. Its Stateful platform combines edge AI, multimodal sensors, and autonomous systems to deliver real-time observability and proactive maintenance capabilities.
With the new funding, BrightAI plans to scale commercial deployments and further develop Stateful into what it calls the “core intelligence layer” for global infrastructure. The company has also opened a San Francisco headquarters and will grow its team by over 100 new hires.
🌀 Tom’s Take:
While a lot of attention gets put on how AI is ushering in new inventions, it is also busy reinventing systems and solutions that are in dire need of reform. BrightAI's Stateful is a great example of how computers can optimize the performance of the real world through the use of sensors and AI.
