At the 78th Cannes Film Festival, Apple Original Films premiered “Bono: Stories of Surrender,” a cinematic adaptation of Bono’s one-man stage show. Directed by Andrew Dominik, the film blends storytelling, archival footage, and performances from the Beacon Theatre.
The film will debut globally on Apple TV+ on May 30, 2025. An immersive version, “Bono: Stories of Surrender (Immersive),” will launch the same day on Apple Vision Pro in Apple Immersive Video—an 8K format with Spatial Audio that places viewers on stage with Bono in a 180-degree experience.
The immersive film is produced by RadicalMedia and Plan B Entertainment, with Bono credited as an executive producer. It is the first full-length title released in Apple Immersive Video.
🌀 Tom’s Take
Apple has invested heavily in immersive Apple TV+ content for its spatial computer, Vision Pro. Entertainment—through sports, TV, and movies—is a natural gateway for introducing mainstream users to spatial computing.
