Blackmagic Adds Immersive Video Tools to DaVinci Resolve for Apple Vision Pro

- DaVinci Resolve now supports editing, grading, VFX, and spatial audio for Apple Immersive Video.
- Works with footage from URSA Cine Immersive camera and streams directly to Apple Vision Pro.
Blackmagic Design has added immersive video capabilities to DaVinci Resolve Studio on macOS, enabling a full post-production workflow for Apple Vision Pro. Update 20.1 supports stereoscopic 3D video shot with the URSA Cine Immersive camera, letting users edit, color grade, mix spatial audio, and add effects using familiar tools. A new immersive viewer allows footage to be previewed on standard monitors or streamed directly to Apple Vision Pro.

According to Blackmagic, DaVinci Resolve Studio is the worldâs only solution that combines editing, color, VFX, audio post, and delivery for Apple Immersive Video. New tools across the Edit, Color, Fusion, and Fairlight pages support immersive workflows with native stereo viewing, lens space compositing, and spatial audio mixing. Projects can be previewed in 360° and exported using presets for Apple Immersive Video and Apple Compressor.
âWe are excited to release this update for DaVinci Resolve Studio which adds tools for Apple Immersive Video to the edit, color, Fairlight and Fusion pages,â said Grant Petty, Blackmagic Design CEO, in an official news release. âNow filmmakers can create stunning immersive content that was previously too complex or expensive to produce. The best part is that you can edit, grade and mix 3D immersive video and audio using familiar tools from 2D projects! We canât wait to see the immersive action, drama, concerts, sports and other incredible experiences our customers will create using DaVinci Resolve!â
The URSA Cine Immersive camera features dual 8K sensors, custom lenses, and metadata-rich Blackmagic RAW files for immersive post. Combined with DaVinci Resolveâs updated toolset, the system delivers a unified workflow from capture to playback, optimized for Appleâs spatial computing platform.
đ Tomâs Take:
Spatial video has been waiting for its tipping point. With Blackmagic delivering both the capture and the post tools, the format finally has a full production pipeline. This could be the moment immersive video moves from experimental to executable.
