  • A new agreement will introduce autonomous ride-hailing service AmiGo to Eastern Switzerland beginning December 2025.
  • Trial operations will scale in phases, aiming for fully autonomous service availability by early 2027.

Apollo Go, Baidu’s autonomous ride-hailing service, has partnered with PostBus, a subsidiary of Swiss Post, to deploy a new on-demand mobility platform in Switzerland. The service, called AmiGo, is backed by both federal and local authorities and is designed to complement the country’s public transportation network.

Test operations with safety drivers will begin in December 2025. A limited passenger pilot will follow in early 2026, with driverless trials scheduled for later that year. Full launch is expected by early 2027, allowing users to book rides through a mobile app and choose between solo or pooled travel.

Apollo Go will supply its RT6 electric vehicles, which are built for Level 4 autonomy and allow the steering wheel to be removed once fully driverless service begins. PostBus will operate the service and build on its role as an early adopter of autonomous driving technology in Switzerland.

ApolloGo operates a global fleet of over 1,000 autonomous vehicles and has recorded more than 200 million kilometers of driverless travel across 16 cities, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Hong Kong. As of August 2025, the company says it has completed more than 14 million public rides.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

This partnership is infrastructure meeting autonomy, with real operations, proven tech, and regulatory approval, there’s a clear path to scale.
