Archetype AI Secures $35M to Launch Physical AI Platform
- Archetype AI secured $35 million in Series A funding led by IAG Capital Partners and Hitachi Ventures.
- The company launched a new platform powered by its Newton model and is already working with NTT DATA, Kajima, and the City of Bellevue.
Archetype AI, a company focused on developing general physical intelligence, announced it has raised $35 million in Series A funding. The round was led by IAG Capital Partners and Hitachi Ventures, with participation from investors including Bezos Expeditions, Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund, and Samsung. The funding will support scaling deployments, team growth, and further development of the company’s Physical AI model.
The company also introduced the Archetype platform and Agent Toolkit, powered by Newton, its foundation model for Physical AI. Newton is designed to perceive, understand, and act in the physical world by combining multiple types of real-world sensor data. The platform lets companies set up intelligent software agents, called Physical Agents, on real-world assets like machines, vehicles, and infrastructure. These agents help monitor operations, check that tasks are done correctly, and improve safety, all without needing complex setup or deep AI expertise.
NTT DATA, Kajima, and the City of Bellevue are already using Archetype’s technology in warehouses, construction sites, and city infrastructure. Their goal is to improve safety and reduce downtime. Archetype is also expanding research on Newton to improve how it processes and reasons across multiple types of data.
🌀 Tom’s Take:
