Apptronik Launches Elevate Robotics for Heavy-Duty Automation

- Elevate Robotics will operate as a new subsidiary focused on non-humanoid industrial automation.
- The team includes alumni from Apollo’s development and veterans in the industrial automation field.
Apptronik has formed a new subsidiary, Elevate Robotics Inc., to tackle industrial tasks that move beyond human capabilities. Unlike Apptronik’s flagship humanoid robot, Apollo, Elevate will focus on a distinct form factor optimized for heavy-duty work.
Elevate’s founding team includes roboticists behind Apollo and experienced builders from the industrial automation sector. It will be led by CEO Paul Hvass, previously the co-founder of Plus One Robotics. The company draws on a decade of development during which Apptronik built more than 15 robotic systems and achieved numerous technological milestones.
Apptronik CEO Jeff Cardenas said Elevate reflects the company’s mission to build robots that assist humanity, emphasizing the group’s capacity to address large-scale industrial challenges. Elevate will operate independently and aims to bring transformative technologies to market.
🌀 Tom’s Take:
Apptronik’s decision to launch a form-specific platform echoes a growing trend in robotics. We have recently seen this from the likes of NEURA Robotics’ MiPA and DEEP Robotics’ hybrid UHV system, Lynx M20. This indicates a shift toward tailoring machines to fit high-impact tasks, rather than human silhouettes.
