  • Amazon has acquired Bee, a company focused on personal, ambient intelligence, according to the company in a LinkedIn post.
  • Bee's team includes veterans from Twitter, TikTok, Telegram, and other major tech firms.

Bee is joining Amazon, according to CEO and Co-founder Maria de Lourdes Zollo, who shared the news on LinkedIn. She described the move as a step toward bringing agentic, personal AI to more people. The company is backed by investors Greycroft and Exor, according to its website.

Bee is a startup building AI-powered wearable devices that combine ambient computing with personal intelligence. The company describes its goal as giving people access to an AI that operates more like a companion than a tool, helping users reflect on experiences, remember important information, and navigate daily life more freely.

The company’s flagship product, the Bee Pioneer, is a standalone wearable designed to be worn on the wrist or clipped to clothing. It features dual microphones with noise filtering, supports up to 40 languages, and offers seven days of battery life. Users interact with it via a dedicated action button that triggers their personal AI, with options to customize double-press functions. Each unit ships with a wristband, clip, and setup guide. The device is currently back-ordered and expected to resume shipping in the U.S. this September.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

Wearable tech is proving to be the ears and eyes of AI. In this case, Bee equips AI with the ability to hear what is going on in the physical real world to enable it to be smarter and more helpful. Bee belongs to a family of listening wearables, including Friend and Pendant, with similar goals. With it now joining Amazon, it will be interesting to see what's next.
