Alipay is taking its digital payment technology into a new setting: smartglasses. The company has partnered with Rokid to bring voice-activated, in-store payments to Rokid's AR glasses, with over 250,000 units already pre-ordered and integrated with Alipay’s digital payment technology.

To use the feature, customers link their Alipay account in the Rokid app and enable voice verification. In stores, they simply say a command, scan the merchant’s QR code with the glasses, and confirm the payment by voice, all within seconds and without touching a phone.

Alipay and Rokid say this technology offers a faster, more intuitive way to pay and could change how users shop and interact with products. The companies aim to keep developing tools that merge digital payments with real-world experiences.

Paying with your phone, or even your smartwatch, has made checkout faster and more seamless. Now, Rokid and Alipay are betting that smartglasses can take this even further.
