  • Robotic Assistance Devices is building 50 ROAMEO Gen 4 security robots, up from an initial 10, following strong interest from clients.
  • The company expects the robots could add $3–$4 million in annual recurring revenue and may double production again within 3 months.

Artificial Intelligence Technology Solutions (AITX) announced that its subsidiary, Robotic Assistance Devices (RAD), is increasing production of its latest outdoor autonomous security robot, the ROAMEO Gen 4. The company initially planned to build 10 units, but has raised that number to 50 after its national demo tour generated unexpected interest from large clients.

The robots, which are designed to patrol outdoor areas like campuses and public spaces without human help, could bring in $3 to $4 million in recurring revenue once deployed. RAD says it may double production again soon and expects to ship units in the coming months. Demand has come from industries such as healthcare, infrastructure, and corporate security.

Each ROAMEO Gen 4 robot stands nearly 7 feet tall, weighs over 1,600 pounds, and uses AI to detect threats, avoid obstacles, and respond in real time.  Equipped with self-recharging capabilities, the company says the robots can work around the clock and save costs by reducing the need for human guards. RAD is now aiming for up to 100 deployments over the next year.

🌀 Tom’s Take:

Security teams are starting to test robots in live environments, not just on paper. That matters because it shows a shift in how organizations think about patrol work and how that is changing with autonomy and robotics. AITX building 50 of these units means some buyers are serious enough to put machines on the ground and see what they can handle.
